Opal Screens unveils its 2027 MicroLED lineup, bringing high-frame-rate 4K gaming, brighter Crystal displays and finer-pitch Doublet options to the big-screen experience at home. Led by the flagship Boulder Series, the updates give movie nights, live sports and gaming a bezel-free canvas sized for the room.
Boulder introduces HDMI 2.1 with 4K120 input and 10-bit HDR. Crystal gains SilkStream technology and reaches 1,000 nits of brightness. Doublet adds BlackFire and a new 0.9mm option. Each builds on Opal's modular approach: a continuous image surface that can fill a private cinema wall or become the centerpiece of a shared living space.
Boulder brings high-frame-rate 4K to a larger stage
A racing circuit, an open-world landscape or a film's sweeping wide shot can stretch across the room without bezels dividing the image. For 2027, Boulder's new HDMI 2.1 configuration adds 4K120 input with 10-bit HDR, bringing high-frame-rate sources to that architectural scale.
With a compatible game and source running at 120 frames per second, the system can receive twice as many distinct video frames as a 60fps source, while retaining 4K input resolution. BlackFire and SilkStream complete the display's picture technology, with SilkStream handling panel-side light timing separately from the incoming video.
Crystal steps into the light with SilkStream
Not every movie night starts after sunset. Crystal's increase to 1,000 nits gives the display more brightness headroom for living spaces that also host afternoon sports and everyday entertainment. BlackFire remains part of its picture technology, now joined by SilkStream.
Crystal accepts 4K at 60Hz or 1080p at 120Hz, giving homeowners a choice between 4K source detail and high-frame-rate Full HD gaming.
Doublet welcomes BlackFire and finer detail
BlackFire comes to Doublet for 2027, along with a new 0.9mm pixel-pitch option. The finer spacing puts more pixels into a given display area, opening up new choices for rooms where seating is closer to the screen.
Doublet offers 0.9mm, 1.2mm and 1.5mm configurations, with video input up to 60Hz. Dealers can match pixel density to the room and viewing distance, then build the cabinet layout around the intended image dimensions and native resolution.
Bring the big-screen experience home
The lineup also includes Onyx, with BlackFire, NanoPix and 0.7mm or 0.6mm nominal pitch options, and Water for outdoor entertainment. Together, the five series serve dedicated cinemas, shared living spaces and open-air gathering places.
